Sotra islands is located 10 km west of Bergen facing the North Sea. The area is an archipelago which consists of 1550 large and small islands, covering an area of 312 km2. The area is generally level, and the highest point is 341 meters above sea.
From the centre of Bergen it will only take you 20 minutes to the beautiful islands, where you will find war- and coastal-museums, art gallery, old and new trading sites, good skin-diving, fish farms, boats for hire, boat trips, fresh air, bathing in the North Sea or sheltered bays, walking tracks and first of all deep-sea and freshwater fishing with or without boat.
Sotra is the common name for the municipals named Fjell, Sund and Oygarden.
