The Norwegian Company of Contemporary Dance.
Established in Oslo and placed in Bergen, Carte Blanche is one of two nationally institutionalized organizations for dance.
The company works in a refurbished building, called Danseteatret, situated in the center of Bergen. Purpose built to accommodate a theatre for dance and two studios, the majority of the company’s work, amounting to 60 - 80 performances per year are performed in the Danseteatret.
Carte Blanche produces a minimum of 3 new choreographic works a year and performs an average of 4 - 6 productions per year.
Guest choreographers, designers and musicians are invited from abroad as well as from the Norwegian circuit.
The company regularly tours locally and nationally and since 1998 the company has also frequently toured Europe.
The artistic ensemble comprises of a wealth of international talent, having an extensive knowledge of classical and modern dance training, as well as improvisation, creative and choreographic skills.
