Hadeland Glassworks, Norway

Author: Hadeland Glassworks.

Hadeland Glassverk is beautifully situated in Jevnaker, just an hour north of Oslo, in idyllic surroundings at the southern tip of the lake Randsfjord. The glassworks was founded in 1762 and is the oldest industrial company in Norway that can claim continuous operation since its foundation. With its 190 employees the glassworks today not only represents a large and thriving industry undergoing constant development, but also significant operations linked to the Visitor Centre.

The company boasts a significant historical and cultural heritage, while at the same time focusing on continous development and new design. Our Visitor Centre welcomes almost 600.000 visitors annually, and is thereby one of Norway's most popular tourist attractions.

Hadeland Glassverk is beautifully situated just an hour north of Oslo, in idyllic surroundings at the southern tip of the lake Randsfjord. The Visitor Centre is open daily throughout the year, Monday through Sunday, and offers a variety of activities for children and adults alike.

You can come here to experience local traditions, history and culture, and see the latest in trends and designs. Watch the glassblowers practising their traditional art, and try your hand at glassblowing or glass designing. Our eight shops welcome you to shop at factory prices or just browse around. Moreover, the Glasswork’s beautiful and fairy-tale like surroundings make a perfect backdrop for courses, conferences, parties and other social arrangements.
