Fjell Fortress is located on the island of Sotra, west of Bergen. The fortifications were built in 1942-1945 by the occupying Germans to ensure the approach to Bergen. Fjell Fortress was part of the Atlantic Wall – the German fortress line that went along the Atlantic coast from the Arctic Sea to the Pyrenees.
