| Voss is situated on the main road and railway line from Oslo to Bergen, about 100 kilometres east of Bergen. Approx. 1hour and 15 minutes by train from Bergen to Voss. Voss was established as a municipality on January 1, 1838. Total population (2008) is 13 768. The main centre of population is the town Voss or Vossevangen.
